Pull me out of the lost and found...
Willis Update August 27 2007

Hey gang, another week down in Willis world, another update. Here's the latest exciting news:

Last Thursday Rob and I got together and went through some of the more troublesome songs, and fixed up a few parts, and some how we managed to come up with a new song through this process. We've tentatively titled it "Got What I Needed". It actually started out as a new version of "Jillian", but since we really like the original of that song, and this new one began taking on its own identity we decided to roll with it. So it's part Jillian, and part tribute to the Cars. If it works out, great. If not, shit happens.

Yesterday I started laying down my rhythm guitars and have officially become the second guitar player of Willis. It's the first time we've had a second guitar player since the show at The Press Club with Bridgette doubling up for us. Now ask me how and I'm going to play drums and guitar live, and well...I haven't figured that out yet. I got 4 songs done, and had a listen back to them panned off. It sounds full and fat. Nice tones without being overly aggressive. I think it they will work well with the "Willis sound" we've always had. This week I hope to finish off my guitars, and next will be the clean guitars. That's it for now, peace of mo-fo's.

"Tried out for the team..."
Willis Update August 20 2007

Yesterday was a productive day in the Willis world as Rob and I got a good chunk of the guitar down. The next step will be for me to lay down some rhythm gits to match up with robs and start to fill in the sound. Then we will start work on the clean guitars before we take a stab at the bass. If everything goes according to plan, I would like to have some rough mixes done to send out to everybody by the end of august or early september. These mixes obviously won't have any vocals, and probably not any lead guitars either, but they would allow Amy to hear how the songs are taking shape so she can start work on any lyric and melody changes that will be required. There seems to be a faint light at the end of the tunnel, but it's pretty tiny at the moment. These next couple steps are going to be big ones, and we're going to start hearing these songs like we've never heard them before. Let's keep rocking!
